BBTB2 - Flower Challenge

It's Monday morning and it's a new challenge at BBTB2. This week's challenge is being set by our very talented Jeri. She has chosen the six petal flower on the Bloom Cartridge....Row 4, Key 10. However, if you don't have that cartridge, you can use any cartridge just as long as it's a six petal flower. Jeri wants to see layers and dimension.

I used the six petal flower on Forever Young, page 73. I used paper from an old book and started at 3 inches and worked my way down to 2 inches for all of the dimension and layers. I then inked the edges with Range Distress Ink (Old Paper).

The cupcake holder is from Sweet Treats which I cut at 6 1/2 inches and used a border punch around the top. Inside the cupcake holder is a pair of spa socks rolled up to look like a cupcake. I got this idea from my sweet friend from the Netherlands, Jannie. Click on her name to see her cute little project using this idea.

The paper on the card and cupcake holder is from My Mind's Eye, Paris & Co. The embellishment on the card is a Memory Pocket from Brenda Walton.

Free For All Friday Challenge

I made this card and purse set for the Free For All Friday Challenge on StampTV. The challenge (STVFRILM9) is being hosted by Lee Murphy at GKD and it is a Pinterest Inspiration Challenge. She wants the participants to log on to her Pinterest account and choose something on there which inspires your creation. I chose her category for the Gina K stamps that she has. The Gina K stamp that I used is Retro Boutique by Rupa Shevde.

I found this cool tutorial by Diana Gibbs on how to make an awning card. And, that great purse is a template from Creations by AR. When you open the purse, the inside slides up to reveal a gift card. Then slides back down when you close it.

Challenge SS6 - Stampin Sisterhood

I made this card for the challenge at Stampin Sisterhood, Sisterhood Sundays Challenge SS6, which is a sketch challenge as pictured below. The card is 6x6 and the paper I used is from My Minds Eye Paris & Co. The sentiment is also from My Minds Eye from their Wild Asparagus collection called "Mother". That beautiful border is from a Martha Stewart punch.

Valentine 3D Blog Hop

The AR Design Team is having a Blog Hop today to share two brand new templates just in time for Valentine's Day. The Shadow Box Frame Set template is so fun to fill and decorate. The templates are designed with a built in stand so you can display things like photos, etc. This set includes two window designs: square and heart-shaped, along with matching front layers for adding contrast.

The other template is a Surprise Purse. The purse opens up to reveal a gift card, note, photo, etc. The purse is designed to allow whatever you put inside to slide up when the purse is opened and slide back in when closed. This template is so fun to decorate. I made a matching card to go with it. The paper I used for the purse is from Basic Grey's Bittersweet collection called Truffle.

Numbers Challenge for BBTB2

A new week, a new challenge at BBTB2. This week's challenge is set by our extremely talented Donna Mundinger. She wants us to make a project using numbers.....any numbers from any cartridge. I used Celebrations and cut the number at 1 1/2 inches. I used the same cartridge to cut "Happy Birthday" and cut that at 2 inches.

It's my Dad's 84th birthday! Happy Birthday to the best Dad in the whole world!!!!!

Walk in My Garden Caterpillar

Our challenge this week at BBTB2, chosen by our lovely Carole, is the Caterpillar from Walk in My Garden. Well, I immediately thought of a cute caterpillar turning into a beautiful butterfly with a Happy Birthday Sweet 16 sentiment.

The cut can be found on page 120 of the manual. I cut the caterpillar at 2 inches several times to pop it up. I stamped the face using a Peachy Keen face stamp. The sentiment is cut from Spellbinders Shapeabilities Fancy Tags.

Cupcake Basket

You just gotta love the 3D templates by Adela Rossol! It's my friend's birthday and I wanted to make something for her. My friends are always watching their weight so I didn't want to put a cupcake in this adorable cupcake basket. So, I put a bath sponge in it and made a card to match. How cute is that? Another idea is to fold up a pair of slipper socks and put that inside the holder. It doesn't matter what you put in it....it's a great idea for a gift.

I embellished it by adding a flower at the top that I cut with my Cricut. I ussed Accent Essentials to cut the flower.....I started at 4 inches and worked my way down.

Ice Skate Gift Tag

The challenge at BBTB2 this week, chosen by Krista, is to use the ice skate from Winter Woodland which can be found on page 51 of the manual. I cut two at 3 1/2 inches and used them as a gift tag.

Haute Christmas Tote

I am so excited to be your hostess for the last day, Day 12, of the 12 Days of 3D Christmas at Creations by AR Paper Craft Planet Group, featuring the awesome creations by the Creations by AR Design Team. As you know, each day one of the members of Adela's Design Team created a project using a template from Creations by AR.

I chose to use this fabulous Haute Tote for my project because I really love how versatile it is. It can be used for any occasion and is large enough to fit a gift inside. Of course, in keeping with our theme, I used Christmas embellishments. The Haute Tote template is available as a PDF file and also for cutting machines. I used Cricut's Winter Woodlands to cut the Holly, which is cut at 2 1/2 inches. I also used Martha Stewarts fringe shears, Stickles, Christmas twine and candy cane buttons.

Christmas Gift Tag

I made this Gift Tag for the Challenge at BBTB2 this week which was chosen by our Design Team mate, Lori. She wants everyone to use the tag from Winter Frolic. I don't have that cartridge, so I used the tag cut from Winter Woodland which can be found on page 76 of the manual. I cut the tag at 11 1/2 inches. I also used Simply Charmed for the Santa, the Chimney, and the wording. They can be found on page 64 of that manual. I cut them both at 6 inches. Merry Christmas is cut at 4 1/2 inches.

Let's Talk Turkey

Let's Talk Turkey is Challenge #117 at Paper Cutz this week. Make a card, layout or craft project for Thanksgiving using a stamped, digital stamp or Cricut cut image of a turkey. Use any colors you'd like.

I used Cricut's Thanksgiving cartridge for my layout. The measurement for each image is as follows:

Pilgrim Hat = 3 inches

Corn = 5 inches

Pumpkin = 1 3/4 inches

Turkey = 3 1/2 inches

Pie = 2 1/2 inches

Leaves = 1 1/4 and 1 1/2 inches

Winter Mittens

I made these cute little mittens using the Winter Mitten Set by Adela Rossol. I used the Cuttlebug Divine Swirls embossing folder to emboss them and then inked them with Stampin Up's Whisper White ink.

Joy from Winter Woodland is the challenge this week at BBTB2. This cut can be found on page 78 of the manual. I cut the word at 3 inches. I also used the snowflake from Wrap It Up, which can be found on page 68 of the manual. I then embellished the snowflake with gold Stickles.

Join us at BBTB2 this week for a new challenge which is to use Heritage cartridge, Accent9 on page 62 of the manual. If you don't have this cartridge, you may use any fancy corner from any other cartridge.

I chose to use Home Decor Corner Accent and cut them at 1 1/2 inches. The paper is from My Minds Eye, Paris & Co. collection. I also used Nestabilities Oval and Scalloped Oval and the stamp is "Lots of Wonderful" from Hero Arts.

Well, I really did this project in a hurry. That's what's great about the Cricut......you can get a project done in no time with all those great cartidges. Our lovely Susan has chosen the witch from Happy Hauntings as the cut for this week's challenge at BBTB2. It's on page 34 of the manual and the opp row of the overlay. I don't have this cartidge so I chose to use the witch from the Cricut Lite Celebrate with Flourish cartridge. It's the Halloween 3 that I cut at 3 inches. The tree is Halloween 2 that I cut at 3 3/4 inches.

In the Pink

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and in honor and in memory of all who have been affected by this terrible illness, the challenge at Paper Cutz this week is "In the Pink" ~ Challenge #114. Make a card, layout, or craft project using the color pink and any other color you'd like.

To make the flower, I used Sizzix Flower Layers #4 Bigz Die cut and inked, glittered, and curled the edges. I used Tim Holtz Distressed Ink Spun Sugar. I also used a Martha Stewart punch to punch the border at the bottom. The Breast Cancer ribbon is a digital stamp from The Cutting Cafe. It's in the Think Pink Breast Cancer Printable Stamp Set.

Hello Kitty Halloween

I have to admit that I'm not a big fan of Halloween, but I sure do enjoy making Halloween projects...so fun! This week, at BBTB2, our lovely Theresa has chosen the Halloween Kitty on the Hello Kitty cart...page 70, 3rd over from left on bottom row of overlay. I don't have that cartridge, so I used Hello Kitty Font cartridge, the HK2 on page 3. I used the shadow blackout and round feature and cut them at 3 inches. I also used Wild Card for the card base. That cut is on page 52.....the doily cut. I cut it on blackout at 5 3/4 inches. The cute pumpkins are from Simply Charmed on page 60. They are cut at 2 inches. And, finally, the witches hat is from Paper Dolls Dress Up on page 55. It's cut at 5 inches.

Good Morning! An exciting new challenge at Paper Cutz. This week's challenge, Challenge #113, is to create a project for Halloween using stars, circles or diamonds and any colors you'd like. My diamond background paper comes from Recollections Halloween cardstock paper pad. The cute little girl is something that I've been holding on to for a long time and never used. BBTB2 Frog

I am so happy to be back on the design team for BBTB2. I missed you all so much. What was supposed to be a few weeks, turned out to be almost 6 months. Building this house was a brutal experience which I will never, ever do again. The bad news is that it was a horrible experience, but the good news is that it's over and I have a beautiful home and a HUGE craft room.

So now let's get back to business......this week's challenge was set by Carri. She wants everyone to use the Frog from Create A Critter (page 24 of manual). But, if you don't have that cartridge, which I don't, you can use any frog from any cartridge. I chose the frog from Give a Hoot which you can find on page 58. I also used Wild Card to cut the card which is the Doily cut on page 52. I also used George to cut the call out.

Cute Skeleton

Hey Everyone! So happy to be back to crafting. My new home is finally done and I have a beautiful, huge craft room. I am so glad that Paper Cutz has invited me back on the team.....I missed you all so much.

This week's challenge is #111 and the theme is "shake, rattle and roll". Make a card, layout or craft project for Halloween with a hand stamped, digital stamped, or Cricut cut of an image of a skeleton, or skull and crossbones. But, make it cute....not spooky. you can use any colors you like.

I used the skeleton cut from Paper Dolls Dress Up. I cut the skeletong at 5 inches. The web background is a punch by Martha Stewart.

Happy Monday! Our challenge at BBTB2 this week was chosen by our lovely and talented Penny. She chose the little chick on the 2010 Easter cartridge. The image is located on the 3rd row down, 8th image over. If you don't have this cartridge...not to worry.....use any chick or duck on any of the cartridges.

This ladybug has to be one of my favorite Cricut cuts. It's from the Doodlecharms cartridge.

I made this project for the challenge at BBTB2 this week which was chosen by our lovely and talented Heather. She wants everyone to use the ladybug from Boys Will Be Boys cartridge found on page 35 of the manual. I don't have that cartridge, so I used the ladybug on Doodlecharms.

Yep....Think Spring! I can't take this cold weather anymore. New Jersey has seen it's largest amount of snowfall EVER!!!!! The mounds of snow are so high here, we'll be seeing snow until May.

Anyway, I made this note pad for two challenges this week:

I love these Stair Step Cards because sometimes I like to make a scene and this is the perfect technique to do that. That is our challenge this week at The Cuttlebug Spot....to make a step card. You can get a tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers for this technique.

I used Life's a Beach cartridge to cut the palm trees. I also used Everyday Paper Dolls to cut the girls, chair, umbrella, pale and shovel, and the water. I ran the water through the Cuttlebug Divine Swirls embossing folder. I used Damask by Sizzix embossing folder for the sun.

This is another "50th" birthday card in the long list of 50th birthday cards I need to make this year. My group of friends, there are 6 of us, are all turning 50 this year. We have been best friends for 46 years! Yep, we know each other since we are 4 years old. We've been through a lot together....good, bad, ups, down...you name it.

You can find a tut for this technique on Splitcoast Stampers. I added the punch border to embellish it a tiny bit. I used Tim Holz Damask embossing folder to emboss the red cardstock. I also used the Cuttlebug and Nestabilities to cut the scallopped ovals.

Valentine Scrapbook Layout

It's the last Monday of January and it's a new challenge at BBTB2. This week's cut was chosen by our very lovely Maria. Maria would like everyone to use more than one of the hearts from Love Struck 2010 Seasonal Cartridge. Of course, if you don't have that cartridge, you can use any heart from any other cartridge. I don't have Love Struck so I used the hearts from Wild Card.

Maria also wants us to make a scrapbook page OR if you don't scrapbook, a card about someone or something you love. Well, I made a scrapbook page about someone I LOVE very very much......my hubby.

The paper is from BoBunny Persuasion Forever Die Cut. As I said, I used Wild Card to cut the hearts found on page 67. They are cut at 5 inches. I also used Give a Hoot to cut the birds at 3 inches and the word "love" is from Beyond Birthdays.

Paper Cutz is one of my favorite challenge blogs. Their challenges are always so fun. This week is Challenge #76 and you have to make a card, layout, or craft project for Valentine's Day using a hand stamped, digital stamped, or Cricut cut image of a cake, cupcake, cookies or candy, using any colors you'd like.

I chose the cupcake cut from the Sweet Treats Cricut cartridge. I ran the top of the cupcake through the Cuttlebug using Divine Swirls embossing folder and then applied embossing powder to give it that "icing" look. The sentiment is actually from Hey Cupcakes Frame Set from The Cutting Cafe. My intent was to use the entire cutting file but I goofed it all up and ended up salvaging the sentiment....so I just used that.

I am making these treat bags for my tennis team....I make them for every holiday so I am sure they are expecting something for Valentine's Day....which by the way happens to be one of my favorite holidays. Brighton Tote

Oh so loved this project. The challenge this week at The Cuttlebug Spot is inspired by a magazine ad. I love anything Brighton and I chose an ad of a handbag that I saw in the Brighton catalog. When I saw this handbag I immediately thought of this paper that I had that looked just like it. To give the black paper a patent leather croc look, I ran the pieces through the Cuttlebug using the Tiny Mosaics embossing folder. Then I inked them up with clear embossing ink and sprinkled them with embossing powder and applied the heat gun. And, viola, patent leather....pretty cool technique.

Butterfly Wings

Isn't this a beautiful poem? I saw it somewhere a long time ago and saved it. My intention was to frame it someday and hang it on my wall. I don't know who to give the credit to as I really don't remember where I got it from.

Our challenge this week at BBTB2 was picked by our lovely and talented Lori who has chosen a butterfly as our image....I thought this was the perfect time to make the frame for the poem. Lori wants to use the butterfly cut from Once Upon a Princess which you can find on page 59 of the manual. If you don't have that cartridge, any butterfly from another cartridge will work just fine. I don't have Once Upon a Princess, so I logged on to http://www.cricutsearch.com/ and searched butterfly and all the cartridges that have a butterfly were listed. So, I chose the butterfly from Home Accents which I cut at 3 inches and 2 1/2 inches. I also used Lacy Labels to cut the frame. I used the Deco label and cut it at "fit to page" which was 11 inches.

I am busy making my Valentine Treats for my nephews. Now, I know this is really "girlie".....but my nephews won't mind....as long as it's filled with chocolate!

Our challenge at Paper Cutz this week is Challenge #75.......Your choice! Make a card, layout, or craft project using any theme or colors you'd like. How easy is that?

I bought the pail at the Dollar Store and filled it with Hershey's Kisses. I used Doodlecharms cartridge to cut the hearts at different sizes and embossed them using Swiss Dots and Divine Swirls embossing folders. The lacy border is by Martha Stewart.

So you just have to join in this challenge....submit whatever you've crafted.....easy peasy!

Hockey Birthday

Our challenge this week at C.R.A.F.T. is anything with the theme of Martial Arts or Sports. I chose the hockey theme because my nephews are BIG into hockey. Seeing their games is just like being at a professional sports arena.....they are as good at professionals...honestly!

Anyway, my nephew will be turning 14 this year and this card is for him. The color scheme I chose are the colors of his team.

I used Lacy Labels Cricut cartridge to cut the card and then used Everyday Paper Dolls to cut the hockey accessories.

Valentine Heart Basket

I made this project for the challenge at BBTB2 this week. My wonderful Design Team Sister, Krista, has chosen a choice of two cuts from Birthday Bash. You can use the Armadillo on page 66 or the Whimsical Bird on page 21. Now, if you don't have this cartridge (I don't), you can use any cartridge you have that has a whimsical bird (I don't think there are any others that have an Armadillo). There are so many carts with fun birds, so that should not be a problem to find.

I am really loving my new Cricut Lite cartridges...there are so many fun images. I used Celebrate with Flourish for this project. The cute Heart Box template is from Adela Rossol who has provided it for the challenge at Paper Craft Planet's 3D Tuesday Challenge.

I am really loving these Some Odd Girl characters....they are so adorable. Well, it's the first challenge of 2011 at Some Odd Girl and the challenge is "Let's Get Embossed". The adorable image is Lounging Kaylee.

This card is also for the challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters this week which is a birthday challenge.

I embossed the papers using my Cuttlebug. The brown cardstock is from Coredinations. I used the Allegro embossing folder to emboss it and then sanded it. I used Divine Swirls to emboss the cake and Swiss Dots to emboss the background pink cardstock.

I used my Cricut to cut the cake using Sweet Treats cartridge and Accent Essentials to cut the scalloped square.

Well, I just got my new Cricut cartridge....Wrap It Up. Wow, it's packed with lots of fun cuts to make cards, boxes, tags and so much more. I really love this cartridge. I used it to make my project for this week's challenge at Paper Cutz. Challenge #74 is to make a card, layout or craft project using a tag or tags and any colors or theme you'd like.

I cut the car and tag at 3" and used the layering feature. The papers are from DCWV Guy Stack. This card and gift is for my Dad who is turning 83....Happy Birthday Poppa!

Stylin' Birthday Card and Envie

This card is for the challenge at Just Us Girls this week....Challenge #66 Envy of the Envies (envelopes)! The challenge is to decorate an envelope to match/coordinate with the card and also create a liner for the envelope to coordinate with the card. The first picture above shows the inside liner and the second picture shows the decorative border, which is a border punch from Martha Stewart, that matches the background paper.

Since the sponsor for this challenge is Gina K. Designs, the stamped image and sentiment I used are stamps by Rupa Shevde called Retro Boutique....they are manufactured by Gina K. Designs. January is Inspiration Month at The Cuttlebug Spot. This week we are being inspired by a song....any genre. Do whatever the song inspires you to do, be it the lyrics, instruments, message, etc. Or, does the song define an important moment in your life?

On Sunday morning, I started to make a card with a particular song in mind. As I was making the card, another song popped into my head because of the paper I was using. That song was Groovin by The Young Rascals....."Grooving on a Sunday afternoon"....is what I kept humming over and over. I guess the paper I was using reminded me of the 60's and Grooving just popped into my head. The paper is from Fancy Pants Daydreams. I embossed the background paper with the Stylized Flowers embossing folder.

Humming Bird Birthday Card

BBTB2 is back in action after a long holiday break. This week, our challenge is set by our lovely and talented Karen. She chose the humming bird from Lyrical Letters. You can find it on page 68 of the manual. It is the shift of the "italic monoline" function. If you don't have this cartridge, you can find humming birds on Botanicals, Dreams Come True and Give a Hoot. I don't have Lyrical Letters, so I used the humming bird from Give a Hoot and snipped off the flower and just used the bird.

The papers are Bright Florals by Colorbok. The flowers are cut out of the paper in that paper stack.

I've had this book since I was a little girl; it was given to me by my Mother who had it when she was a little girl. Gone with the Wind, by Margaret Mitchell, is my favorite book and favorite movie.

I love this little gingerbread guy! That's why I was so thrilled when Julie Huxter chose that image for our challenge at BBTB2 this week. It is the gingerbread man from Just Because cartridge. You can use that image or the charm/tag image from page 58 of the manual.

I used Just Because to cut the gingerbread man and TBBM to cut the tag. I used a brown paper bag to cut the gingerbread man and the tag. I used 3D fabric paint to embellish him.

I made this card for my very dear friend who will be turning 50 in January. We have been best friends since we are 4 years old and we are both turning 50 in 2011.....she in January and me in February. Wow, time sure does fly. I can remember the first day we met.

Whew! This was a labor of love. It seems like it took me forever to complete this project. What made it very helpful was the 2011 Calendar template from The Cutting Cafe. Also, you gotta love the Cricut....that made it a lot easier to design the pages. Although I posted only a few months, it does, in fact, include all the months! Champagne Gift Tote

Oh My Gosh....Happy New Year? Are you kidding me? An entire year has gone by! It's seems like only yesterday that we were all in a tizzy over Y2K......remember that one?

Anyway, we have a new challenge at The Cuttlebug Spot and that challenge is "Happy New Year". We are to celebrate 2011 with any project of our choice. Well, go no further.....champagne for everyone!!!!!!

I ordered these bottle totes from Oriental Trading Co. They come in just plain white and you can decorate them as you wish. So I grabbed some paper from Me and My Big Ideas Specialty Cardstock to cover the tote. I made the tag using Cricut's Tags Bags Boxes and More. I also used Wild Card to cut the champagne bottle. I embossed the tag and the top using my Cuttlebug and Allegro embossing folder.

Angel bringing Peace

Hey! Happy Monday Morning! I'ts my turn to host the challenge at BBTB2 this week. In keeping with the Christmas spirit, I chose the wreath from Joys of the Season cartridge. You can choose anything you like from page 66 of the manual.

World Peace is what I am wishing for this Christmas Season. It's what I want most. The reason I chose the wreath is because of the history and symbolism associated with them. They are usually made from evergreens and symbolize strength, as evergreens last even throughout the harshest winters. The circular shape of the wreath is seen as a common symbol of eternity. The use of wreaths varies by culture, tradition and religions and dates back thousands of years.

It's a new challenge at Stamp, Scrap and Doodle.....monochromatic using your favorite color. Well, I have to say that monochromatic cards are not my favorite as I really enjoy making things that have a lot of color. I really don't have a "favorite" color but I do like blue a lot. So that is the color I'm going with for this project. I used Joys of the Season Cricut cartridge to cut the menorah and dreidle. Wow! Only two weeks until Christmas....unbelievable how this year has flown by. It's Friday and a new challenge at Paper Cutz......Challenge #71 is to make a card, layout, or craft project using a hand stamped, digital stamped, or Cricut cut image of a snowflake or snowman, using any colors you'd like. My little snowman, sentiment and paper is from The Cutting Cafe. The snowman and paper are from the Christmas Mini Colored Set and the sentiment is from Fun With Frosty the Snowman. Oh boy is it feeling like Winter ~ Brrrrrrr! Winter hasn't even officially begun yet and I already can't wait for it to end. I am entering this card in Challenge #60 at Whimsie Wednesdays this week....the challenge theme is "Winter Blues". So, blue is the focus of my card. I used their Snowy Greetings stamp as the focal image.

Rufus the Reindeer

Peachy Keen Wine Bottle Bag

Well, I tried something different......I took a plain burlap wine bottle bag and, using a Peachy Keen stamp (PK312 Frozen Stiff Snowman), stamped the image on the bag and colored it in using Copic markers and acrylic paint. I added some snowflakes and a ribbon.

Cardinal Tag

Well, I'm starting the gift wrapping.....I assembled the branch, twig, nest and cardinal and sprayed it with Snow. I made the tag using my Cricut and Tags, Bags Boxes and More cartridge. I cut the cardinal and branch with pine cone using Winter Woodlands cartridge. Then I dotted the tag with 3D fabric paint and used a snow marker on the pine cone. This is for the challenge at The Play Date Cafe this week, PDCC58. It's a color challenge inspired by this picture.....

Welcome back to The Cuttlebug Spot......the Design Team had a very nice two weeks vacation and now we are back in action. This week's challenge is to make a Christmas card using your favorite embossing technique. I really love all kinds of embossing but if I have to choose one, it would be heat embossing using embossing powder, ink and a heat gun. I just think the whole process is so cool! Gingerbread Goodie Bag

I made this goodie bag for the Peachy Keen Let's Face It Fridays Paper Bag Challenge. I cut the background from a brown paper bag that I got from the supermarket and I also cut the gingerbread people from the bag using my Cricut and Just Because cartridge. I used 3d fabric paint to embellish the gingerbread people and the bag.

Santa Bingo Card

Well, I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and you are all ready to play along at BBTB2 for the new challenge this week. It's Joanna's turn to choose our cut and she chose the santa from Winter Frolic located on page 53 of the handbook. If you don't have that cartridge...no worries! Just choose any santa from any cartridge you do have.

I made my santa using Joys of the Season. The santa is cut at 2 1/2 inches. I also used the Christmas Bingo Card Set from The Cutting Cafe.

Heirloom Ornament

Christmas Tree Goodie Box

I made this Christmas Tree using the Huge Christmas Tree Set from The Cutting Cafe. I went a step further and attached a little box to it so that I could put some candy in it. I thought it would make a cute Christmas goodie box.

I think the most difficult thing about paper crafting is choosing the right papers for the project. And, sometimes I think the papers came out great until I photograph it and then the camera just doesn't do it justice....that's what happened in this case. It looks much nicer in real life.

Huge Stocking

Happy December! Last night was the lighting of the Christmas Tree in Rockefeller Center which officially kicks off the holiday season. This cute stocking is the Huge Stocking Template from The Cutting Cafe. The papers I used are from Provocraft. I left an opening at the top of the stocking so I can actually put stuff in it. The next one I make will be made using felt.

Ornament Candy Jar

Wowzers!!! It's the end of the month already! I just can't believe how fast this year is going. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are recuperated by now and are ready for a new challenge at BBTB2. Our wonderful and talented Jeri has chosen our challenge this week and it is from the Winter Frolic cartridge. She wants us to use Ornament 1 (#37 on the overlay) or Ornament 2 (#38 on the overlay) AND the phrase (#37 on overlay) Deck the Halls. Well, unfortunately for me, I don't have this cartridge. I didn't want to miss out on the challenge, so I used the ornaments from Joys of the Season. I also etched the glass jar using my Cricut, JOTS cartridge, vinyl, and etching solution. To etch the glass, I lowered the speed of the Cricut to 4 and the pressure down to 2. I applied the vinyl to the cutting mat and selected the image and size and then cut it. I then applied the transfer tape and released the back of the vinyl. I applied it to the jar and removed the transfer tape and then applied the solvent. I let it dry for about 20 minutes and then washed it off with cold water and peeled off the vinyl. I hope you like my project.
